Our Story
In modern societies, people interact and connect with one another through a multitude of ways — near or distant relatives, classmates in a school, participants in a co-curricular activity, course mates in a tertiary institution, residents in a block or neighbourhood, camp or unit mates during National Service, team members in a corporate department, colleagues in the broader workplace, volunteers in a non-governmental organisation, introduction through mutual friends, staff and customers of a shop, or even through a shared and common passion, hobby, or interest.
The Chinese believe that the various forms of interactions and connections between people do not occur randomly or within a vacuum. Rather, they get together/相聚 (xiangju) due to fate/缘分 (yuanfen), which acts like invisible and intangible strings drawing them together at a particular time and in a specific space. This worldview is the basis for our name: 缘聚 (yuanju) or the gathering of fate. We believe such interactions and connections promote physical, mental, and emotional wellness.
Our name has another significance, which is to commemorate all the interactions and connections that we have made with different groups of people over the past decades in our lives, all of which we highly cherish and value. There are the positive emotions, wonderful memories, and useful experiences that have guided us thus far in life, and which will continue to serve and nourish us for the rest of our journeys.
With this in mind, our vision is to provide spaces for people to connect, interact, network, share knowledge and skills, and generate business opportunities, even while fate continues to wield its mysterious ways. In doing so, we hope to perpetuate and elevate the precious relationships among human beings and the groups to which they belong, as well as the resultant feeling of wellness.
Looking ahead, we hope to continue sourcing suitable spaces to meet our clients’ needs, thereby facilitating even more interactions and connections between people.
